Business of Acting Basic - Commercial Auditioning in Texas (1)

Texas legislators just passed a 200 million dollar tax incentive program for Texas Film Industry. This is more than 4x's the amount of our previous session and is an amazing step towards increased on camera work in Texas! A Starter Agency seeks to prepare Texas talent for what is sure to be an influx in opportunity. This workshop will:

• Give each participant the opportunity to tape a commercial audition and receive notes either during or outside of the workshop
• Explain in detail the commercial casting process (how roles are created, who creates them, what casting is looking for and why)
• Explain what to look for when submitting, particularly rates and terms to make sure you are protecting yourself and your image
• Go over different types of projects and what they mean for you in the short and long term (SAG, Non- Union, New Media, Broadcast, Web, Social Media)
• The importance of special skills when it comes to commercials and what you should look to add/improve upon if you want to book
• How to read a breakdown and what to look for/avoid when submitting The benefits of commercial auditioning and acting What to expect after casting session(s), on shoot day and after (how payment works)
